Set up between 2002 and 2005 the 8 NHS Innovations Hubs are helping to deliver improved care and better outcomes for patients; significant financial benefits for the NHS (through cost-savings, new income-streams , efficiency –savings and improvements in quality); world class knowledge economy and a more prosperous UK plc.

A recent economic impact study by the York Health Economics Consortium assessed the potential value of the hub innovations to date at a minimum of £150m per annum
